Tourista Tour Golf Tournament Report
Frater Bill Wilson filed this report:
The 2012 Tourista Tour was held Sunday, August 19 at the Country Club of Gwinnett. There were 14 golfers who played this year. Registration was handled by the dynamic duo of Donnie McQuaig and Jim (Twig) Hartwig. This year's first place winners were Team Clark, who returned with a vengeance, after coming in second last year. Team Clark members were Pat & Ann Clark; Pat's son, Chris Clark; and Pat's grandson, Sam Clark. Taking home runner up trophies this year was Team Agee, who were last year's winners. Team Agee members were Daniel Agee, Michael Sable, Paul Fregosi, and Jacob Fisher. The closest to the pin award went to Ann Clark and the longest drive went to Jacob Fisher. We were able to finish the awards ceremony before the rain showers that had been threatening all day finally hit the area. Thanks to all who sponsored a hole, who made a donation, who played in the tournament, and who volunteered their time. Next year's tournament will be held somewhere in Middle Georgia, since Pat & Ann Clark graciously volunteered to host the Tourista Tour for 2013. Thanks also to tournament co-chairmen Brad Hoyt and Bill Wilson. We had a great time!
Next Teke event is Homecoming. Plans are being made and details will be shared soon.
Yours in the Bond,
Bill Wilson, President
Lambda-Upsilon Alumni Association

REMEMBERING FRATER CEEGE BUTLER, LLT
It is with much sadness that the Lambda-Upsilon Chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity announces the passing of Frater Clarence "Ceege" Butler (ΛΥ 1) into the TKE Chapter Eternal. Frater Butler passed away at his home in Statesboro on Wednesday, August 12, 2009. A Chapter Founder, Frater Butler was one of seven Fraters who were instrumental in the establishment of “The Southern Colony” in 1967. When the International Fraternity officially installed Lambda-Upsilon Chapter on May 25, 1968, the collegiate membership selected Frater Butler to become the first initiate of the chapter. However, because he was not enrolled at Georgia Southern College at the time of the chapter installation, he was initiated into the Fraternity as an Honorary Member (Alumni Initiate), also becoming the first member of the chapter to hold this distinction. Aware of their obligations as citizens of the greatest Nation on earth, they answered its call; they served the United States with courage and commitment.
